PAQ - Previously Asked Questions

1. "Jar Size Mismatch" or "Image Decoding Error"

The uploaded images are too large. Most of the phones have screens of 128x160 or less, and the images to be downloaded should not be bigger than that. The LG 5350 phone is especially sensitive to screen size: Users report that a resolution of 120x110 (72dpi) is working fine, anything else may or may not work. Also, 24-bit true-color and 16-bit high-color are better than 256-color images. You can download here a small test file, which should work well.

2. "Server Error" or "Attribute/Content Size Mismatch" when download Java applications/games

A 'Server Error' indicates Internet connectivity problems during download - simply try again.  An 'Attribute Mismatch' or 'Content Size Mismatch' error, however, indicates a compatibility problem with the phone - preventing the phone from accepting the application.

3. "How can I record my own voice and use it for a ring tone?"

PCSpix.com support .QCP files. QCP audio files are comparable to .WAV and .MP3 files. To record your own .QCP file follow the following steps:

(i) Open Sound Recorder on your computer and record your audio file.  Then save it as .WAV (8kHz, 16-Bit, Mono).  Or convert any other audio file (e.g., MP3) into the WAV format.
(ii) Convert the .WAV file into a .QCP with a converter available here: Qualcomm PureVoice
OR download the PureVoice Recorder/Player from the same site and record a .QCP file directly.
(iii) Upload the .QCP file to PCSpix.com and then download the ring tone from your phone.

4. "I have sent an email to nomailings@PCSpix.com to have my email address removed from promotional mailing lists, but I did not get a confirmation."

Your request will be processed, unless your email is returned undeliverable (e.g., typo in email address).   We do not send out confirmation emails to individuals who try to limit the amount of emails they get.

5. "I forgot my username and/or password"

Signup as a new user with your email address and a random username - you will receive instructions on how to retrieve your username and password.

6. "I have a 2G phone.   Will you support my phone as well?"

PCSpix.com does not support 2G phones at this time.
